India and Poland have agreed on social security agreement: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said that India and Poland have agreed on a social security agreement, further strengthening their partnership in areas like new technology and clean energy. He highlighted that Kabaddi has emerged as a unique connection between the two nations, with Poland set to host the Kabaddi Championship for the first time this year.

In his address to the Indian community in Warsaw, PM Modi emphasized that innovation and youth will drive development in both countries. He said that the agreement on social security will benefit Indians living in Poland. The PM also highlighted India’s global influence, citing the country’s commitment to the principle of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” (the world is one family), which is reflected in India’s G20 presidency theme, “One Earth, One Family, One Future.”

PM Modi expressed his optimism about his upcoming meetings with Polish President Andrzej Duda and Prime Minister Donald Tusk, expecting these interactions to further strengthen the India-Poland partnership. He also spoke about the similarities between India and Poland, particularly their democratic values, and highlighted India’s successful management of its massive electoral process.

The Prime Minister said that Poland and India have connected through Kabaddi, a sport deeply rooted in Indian culture, and acknowledged Poland’s achievements in the game, including hosting the upcoming Kabaddi Championship.

PM Modi underscored India’s ambitious goal of becoming a developed nation by 2047, underscoring the rapid progress made in recent years. He pointed out that 250 million people have been lifted out of poverty in the last decade, and significant advancements have been made in housing, financial inclusion, and digital transactions.

The PM also highlighted the dramatic increase in broadband users and the expansion of public transport infrastructure, including the growth of metro networks. He reiterated his commitment to making India the third-largest economy in the world, emphasizing the country’s potential in digital infrastructure and AI.

Additionally, PM Modi highlighted India’s focus on cutting-edge missions like the Semiconductor Mission, Deep Ocean Mission, and the National Green Hydrogen Mission, as well as plans to establish a space station. He stressed the importance of balancing economic growth with ecological sustainability, highlighting India’s strides in electric mobility and green hydrogen.

PM Modi also emphasized that India’s foreign policy has shifted from maintaining distance to fostering close relationships with all countries. He praised the Indian diaspora for their contributions and recalled their efforts to support Indian students during the Ukraine crisis.

The Prime Minister thanked the Polish government for its support and expressed gratitude for the warm welcome he received in Poland.
