A woman in Delhi was allegedly murdered by her father yesterday because she refused to get married, the police said.
The incident came to light after the blood-soaked body of the woman was recovered from a field near Delhi's Kanchawala area yesterday.
Nandkishore had been forcing his daughter to get married, but she kept refusing. Police said the woman was in a relationship and wanted to marry her boyfriend.
They often had heated arguments over this, they said.,
Nandkishore brought his daughter to the field in a cab and used a glass cutter to kill her. Sources said he also had liquor in the cab and bragged about killing his daughter in front of the driver.
Nandkishore has been arrested and investigation is on in the case, officials said.
