Jake Dryan embarked on his cooking journey by slicing potatoes into long strips and heating a generous amount of mustard oil in a pan. Mustard and fenugreek seeds were added next, frying the potato strips until they turned golden-brown. He then added green chillies, turmeric, and salt. Moving on, the food vlogger turned his attention to preparing plain yellow dal, a dish typical of Bihar. He infused cumin seeds, hing, along with garlic, ginger, and dried chilli to enhance the spicy flavour. Finishing touches included chilli powder and grated onions. Dryan described his experience as being “literally in heaven” as he enjoyed dal-bhat and aloo bhujia, calling it a “classic South Asian comfort food.” Take a look:
