Agra : A primary school teacher at a govt school was caught on camera sleeping in her classroom while students fanned her during school hours in Gokulpur village in Dhanipur block of Aligarh district.
The CCTV footage of the incident caused widespread outrage among parents and locals, who have demanded strict action against the teacher for “irresponsible behaviour.”
The video shows the teacher taking a nap on a mat on the classroom floor while children take turns fanning her with hand-held fans.
The footage was circulated widely on social media, prompting calls for an investigation to prevent similar incidents in the future.
Rakesh Kumar, Basic Shiksha Adhikari (BSA) of the area, said, “I have seen the video. A team will be sent to the school to investigate the matter, and further action will be taken accordingly.” Repeated attempts to speak to the school principal did not yield results.
A father of one of the students, who wished to remain anonymous, expressed his frustration at the incident. “We send our children to govt schools only because we cannot afford private school fees. If teachers in state-run schools behave like this instead of teaching, what will our children learn? Strong action must be taken against such teachers.”
