Air Dynasty helicopter crash in Nuwakot: five bodies recovered

An Air Dynasty helicopter crashed this afternoon near Shivachaur in the Shivapuri Rural Municipality-7 of Nuwakot, resulting in the deaths of all five people on board. The helicopter, identified as 9N-AJD, was piloted by senior captain Arun Malla. There were five individuals on board, including four Chinese nationals traveling to Rasuwa. The helicopter lost contact with the Kathmandu tower just three minutes after takeoff from Tribhuvan International Airport, according to the CAAN.

The government of Nepal has formed a three-member panel to investigate the Air Dynasty chopper crash that took place on Wednesday.

The emergency meeting of the Council of Ministers held on Wednesday decided to entrust the committee led by Suvas Thapa, senior pilot of the Nepali Army, with the responsibility of probing the incident.

According to Minister for Communication and Information Technology Prithvi Subba Gurung, who is also spokesperson of the government, aeronautical engineers Vishnu Basnet and Tanuja Pokhrel are the members of the panel.

The committee has been given 30 days to investigate the crash and submit a report to the government.
