“3 Missed Opportunities For Opposition”: Prashant Kishor To NDTV

Poll strategist Prashant Kishor has scoffed at the Congress-led INDIA bloc’s chances of defeating the BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha election, arguing the opposition grouping had failed to capitalise – multiple times – when Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government was on the defensive. He made specific mention of the contentious Ram Mandir (consecration in Uttar Pradesh’s Ayodhya), saying, “The opposition virtually lay down arms (after the event). By the time they woke up again, in February, it was too late.”
“By the time INDIA bloc came into action, it was too late… the BJP had already recovered space it lost,” Mr Kishor, who orchestrated winning campaigns for three members of the opposition group – the Trinamool, the Congress, and the DMK – told NDTV on Tuesday.
Mr Kishor also criticised the INDIA bloc’s failure to announce a common prime ministerial candidate – something the BJP has also pounced on – and suggested this told the voters the opposition group “does not have a reliable fac..

BCCI Asked To Fulfill ‘Only Condition’ To See Dhoni Continue IPL Journey

Former India batter Ambati Rayudu doesn’t feel MS Dhoni has played his last match in the IPL and wants the BCCI to continue with the contentious impact player rule as it could help the long-serving legend to keep going in top-flight cricket. Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings bowed out of this edition of the Indian Premier League following a 27-run defeat to Royal Challengers Bengaluru in a much-anticipated southern derby in Bengaluru on Saturday.
The five-time defending champions needed 17 in the final over to qualify for the playoffs on better net run rate, but bowler Yash Dayal, after being hit for monstrous six by Dhoni, held his nerves to help RCB prevail.
Later, speaking on Star Sports Cricket Live, Rayudu said, “I don’t think this is his last game. I just don’t see him wanting to end on this note.” Even as the RCB players broke into wild celebrations, Dhoni shook hands with the opposition’s reserves and support staff before quietly disappearing into the dressing room.
Rayudu said, “He ..

‘Indulged In Destruction Of Evidence’: Court Rejects Manish Sisodia’s Bail

Arvind Kejriwal got interim bail. So did Sanjay Singh. But no such luck for Manish Sisodia.
The Delhi High Court on Tuesday dismissed the bail petition of former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia in money laundering and corruption cases filed by the Enforcement Directorate and the CBI respectively in connection with the alleged liquor scam.
His party, the AAP, said it “respectfully disagrees” with the Delhi High Court’s decision and will approach the Supreme Court to seek “justice” for the former deputy chief minister.
Mr Sisodia, 52, allegedly indulged in the destruction of crucial evidence, including electronic evidence, said Justice Swarna Kanta Sharma, who started pronouncing the order at 6:28 pm. The order was read out for 22 minutes.
“This court is of the opinion that petitioner has not been able to make out a case for grant of bail in his favour,” the High Court said.
The High Court said he was a very powerful and influential person within the power corridors of the Del..
