Meanwhile, Karnataka’s street food scene, particularly pani puri, has come under scrutiny for all the wrong reasons. Recent food safety checks revealed that out of 260 samples collected, 41 tested positive for artificial colours and carcinogenic agents – cancer-causing substances. Additionally, 18 samples were deemed unfit for human consumption altogether.
