CHENNAI: In a harrowing incident in Tiruvottiyur, Chennai, a woman was dragged for around 500 metres by a buffalo along a road on Sunday, resulting in injuries.
The video of this incident from Somasundaram Nagar 2nd street has gone viral.
Residents who rushed to the woman's rescue were attacked by the aggressive animal.
The woman has reportedly been admitted in a hospital for treatment.
The buffalo has been caught and kept at the Perambur cattle depot for observation. So far, no one has claimed ownership.
1,117 stray cattle have been impounded by the Greater Chennai Corporation this year alone.
