GO issued for new hostels and road repairs, Telangana Junior doctors halt strike
Junior doctors from Osmania Medical College have announced that their strike will continue for the third day
While the Telangana Junior Doctors have temporarily paused their strike till June 27, the State health department has issued a Government Order (G.O.) for the construction of new hostels at Gandhi Medical College (GMC) Secunderabad, Osmania Medical College (OMC) Hyderabad, and for road repairs at Kakatiya Medical College (KMC) Warangal.
Junior doctors initiate black badge protest
The G.O., issued by Health Secretary Christina Z Chongthu, allocates ₹204.85 crore to the Director of Medical Education (DME) for civil works at OMC, GMC, and KMC through the Telangana Medical Services Infrastructure Development Corporation (TGMSIDC). The sanctioned amount includes ₹121.9 crore for Osmania Medical College, ₹79.5 crore for Gandhi Medical College, and ₹3.45 crore for the construction of internal cement concrete roads at Kakatiya Medical College.
“If there are no updates from the government, the strike will resume on June 27,” said a statement from the Telangana Junior Doctors Association (T-JUDA). Following the release of the G.O., T-JUDA has yet to make a statement on whether the strike will be called off. All medical services, including outpatient, elective procedures, and ward duties operated as usual on Thursday.
However, junior doctors from Osmania Medical College have announced that their strike will continue for the third day on Thursday, as no assurance has been provided by the health department regarding the new building for Osmania General Hospital.

“We look forward to obtaining documented clarification from the Telangana government concerning the construction of the new OGH building,” said Dr. Deepankar Sheasam, President of the Osmania Telangana Junior Doctors Association.
