KUWAIT CITY, Jun 2: His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad received His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled at Seif Palace this morning to take the constitutional oath, marking his appointment as Deputy Amir. His Highness the Amir addressed a sublime speech, which read as follows:
“Your Highness, Brother Sheikh Sabah Khaled, Praise be to Al-Sabah, Crown Prince, may God’s peace, mercy, and blessings be upon you. We congratulate your Highness, and we congratulate ourselves and the honorable people of Kuwait on your assumption of the position of Crown Prince. We hope that God Almighty grants you success and guides you in the paths of goodness to continue the development renaissance of our dear homeland and what is good for its loyal and righteous children. The country and the people…so walk with God’s blessing, and His care will surround you.”
His Highness the Crown Prince then delivered a speech:
“In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful, His Highness Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Amir of the State of Kuwait, I received, with the sincerest meanings of appreciation and gratitude, your high order to recommend me as Crown Prince. I deeply appreciate and take great pride in your sublime will and the precious trust you have placed in me. I am honored by the assignment and the immense responsibility it entails. I bear this responsibility before God, before Your Highness, and before the dear Kuwaiti people. I pledge with determination and steadfastness to always be faithful to my oath, a keeper of the strong and solid covenant, and a faithful advisor to Your Highness. I am dedicated to serving my country, safeguarding its interests, preserving its security and stability, upholding its values, originality, and unity, and diligently working towards its elevation and progress. I am committed to the teachings of our true Islamic religion and our established national principles.
In this regard, I turn to the Almighty to help me carry this precious responsibility and to be the best support and aide for your wise leadership, contributing to your blessed efforts. I pray that your Highness may be filled with His protection and generous care. We also ask Almighty to perpetuate security and stability in our beloved homeland, and further progress and elevation. May Your Highness continue to lead us wisely and may He guide your steps in the paths of goodness.”
