KUWAIT CITY, June 1: The delegation of the Kuwait badminton team for the disabled received a distinguished reception after winning three medals (gold, silver, and bronze) at the Gulf Badminton Competition for the Special Olympics. This event was organized by the UAE Special Olympics in collaboration with the Regional Presidency of the Special Olympics for the Middle East and North Africa and supervised by the International Federation of Badminton.
Welcoming the delegation were Sheikha Sheikha Al-Abdullah, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Al-Tomooh Club, Dirar Al-Rabah, and Rehab Bouresli, National Director of the Special Olympics.
Muhammad Bourbaa and Fawzan Al-Qassar represented Kuwait in both singles and doubles competitions, Sheikha Al-Hindi in singles, with Coaches Rawan Al-Foudari and Mustafa Hassouna, and administrator Hazem Al-Tarkait. Hanaa Al-Zawawi, head of the Kuwaiti Special Olympics, led the delegation.
Sheikha Sheikha Al-Abdullah praised the remarkable achievements of the champions, congratulating them, the technical and administrative staff of the Kuwaiti Special Olympics, and the Al-Ambuh Sports Club. She expressed her joy at the continued success of the champions in all regional and international forums.
