Kuwait reported 7,600 Heartattack cases in 15 months; 71% are expats

In a significant study on “heart diseases in Kuwait”, conducted by the Heart Association, reported the Heart Association in Kuwait during the 15 month period from May 15, 2023, to August 2024. This includes 5,396 non-Kuwaitis, around 71% and the rest 29% or 2,206 are Kuwaiti nationals.

The death rate among these cases was 1.9%, aligning with global averages. According to the study, 82% of the cases involved males (6,239), with females accounting for 18% (1,363). 43% of the patients were current smokers, and 13% were former smokers. As per the study, more than half of the patients affected were also diagnosed with diabetes, and the average age was 56 years.
