Major reshuffle of IAS officers in Telangana; over 40 bureaucrats transferred and given new postings

First major bureaucratic reshuffle after Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy took over the reins

In the first major reshuffle of IAS officers, Chief Minster A. Revanth Reddy-led Telangana State Government has transferred and given postings to over 40 bureaucrats on Monday.

Talk on the transfer of IAS officers has been in the air for some time now, but the Government did not take up the process after the notification for Lok Sabha elections 2024 was issued. As the election process culminated on June 6, the Chief Minister held a series of discussions with senior officials led by Chief Secretary A. Santhi Kumari and finalised the list of the officers who were to be transferred.

According to orders issued by the Chief Secretary, Energy Department principal secretary Syed Ali Murtaza Rizvi has been transferred and posted as principal secretary in the Commercial Taxes and Excise department, He will be replaced by Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) commissioner D. Ronald Rose who was also placed in Full Additional Charge (FAC) as chairman and managing director of TG Transco and Genco. HMDA metropolitan commissioner Amrapali Kata has been placed in full additional charge as GHMC commissioner.

Transport Commissioner Jyoti Buddha Prakash has been transferred and posted as secretary of Registration and Stamps and Housing. He had been placed in full additional charge as Commissioner and Inspector General Registration and Stamps, Commission of Survey Settlements and Land Records and Project Director of Bhubharathi relieving senior bureaucrat Navin Mittal from the responsibilities. Mr. Jyoti Buddha Prakash would continue as Transport Commissioner till Ilambarithi reports to the post.

Youth Services principal secretary Sabyasachi Ghosh has been transferred and posted as Animal Husbandry and Fisheries department principal secretary, while 1995 batch officer Sanjay Kumar who was waiting for posting has been posted as Labour department principal secretary.

Another officer of the same batch, A. Vani Prasad, presently principal secretary of Environment and Forests, was posted as Tourism and Youth Affairs principal secretary in place of Shailaja Ramaiyer who had been posted as Endowments department principal secretary. She was also placed in FAC as Handlooms and Textiles director and TG Handicrafts Development Corporation managing director.

Planning department principal secretary Ahmed Nadeem was transferred and posted as Forests and Environment principal secretary in place of Ms. Vani Prasad and he would also be in FAC of the post of EPTRI director general. Labour department director Krishna Aditya has been given full additional charge of the post of Employment and Training director relieving Ahmad Nadeem.

Panchayat Raj and Rural Development principal secretary Sandeep Kumar Sultania has been posted as Finance department principal secretary and will continue in the present post till further orders. He has been placed in full additional charge as the Planning Department principal secretary.

School Education Commissioner A. Sridevasena has been transferred and posted as Collegiate Education Commissioner relieving Burra Venkatesham from the full additional charge of the post while Joint Chief Electoral Officer Sarfaraz Ahmad was transferred and posted as HMDA metropolitan commissioner relieving M. Dana Kishore from the full additional charge of the post.

Ms. Sridevasena would be replaced by Tribal Welfare Director E.V. Narasimha Reddy who had been transferred. Mr. Reddy would also hold full additional charge of the post of Telangana Education and Welfare Infrastructure Development Corporation managing director.

Harichandana Dasari has been posted as the Roads and Buildings Department special secretary and IAS officer V.P. Gautham posted as the Housing Department special secretary. He would hold the charge as weaker section housing programme director and also placed in FAC as Municipal Administration director relieving D. Divya. On transfer, Ms. Divya was posted as SERP chief executive officer relieving Anita Ramachandran from the full additional charge of the post. Ms. Divya would continue to be the State Nodal Officer of Prajavani.

Alugu Varshini had been transferred and posted as Telangana Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society secretary relieving K. Seetha Lakshmi from the full additional charge of the post. Horticulture director K. Ashok Reddy has been posted as Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board managing director relieving C. Sudarshan Reddy who had been posted as GAD secretary (services and HRM) relieving M. Raghunandan Rao from the charge. Mr. Ashok Reddy would be replaced by Sk. Yasmeen Basha who is waiting for posting.

Health department special secretary Soni Bala Devi has been transferred and posted as Sports Authority of Telangana managing director relieving Korra Lakshmi of the FAC. Anurag Jayanthi who was waiting for posting has been posted as GHMC Khairatabad Zonal Commissioner while Pamela Satpathy had been retained as Karimnagar district collector.

The Government had also curtailed the reappointment period of S. Arvinder Singh (retd) as GAD director (protocol) and appointed S. Venkata Rao to the post.

Other IAS officers who were given new postings are: G. Ravi as State Pollution Control Board member, K. Nikhila as Telangana Institute of Rural Development CEO, P. Uday Kumar as Agriculture and Cooperation joint secretary, Priyanka Ala as Fisheries director and Ila Tripathi as Tourism director.

Agriculture director B. Gopi had been given full additional charge as Animal Husbandry director and GHMC Serilingampalli zonal commissioner Sneha Shabarish had been posted as additional commissioner in the corporation. Hyderabad additional collector (Revenue) Hemanta Keshav Patil had been posted as GHMC L.B. Nagar zonal commissioner and Jogulamba Gadwal additional collector (Local Bodies) Apurv Chauhan had been posted as GHMC Kukatpally zonal commissioner.

Medchal-Malkajgiri additional collector (Local Bodies) Abhishek Augustya was transferred and posted as Khammam Municipal Corporation commissioner and Mancherial additional collector (Local Bodies) B. Rahul was posted as ITDA Bhadrachalam project officer.

Rajanna Sircilla additional collector (Local Bodies) P. Gouthami has been transferred and posted as Musi River Development Corporation joint managing director and GHMC additional commissioner P. Upender Reddy (non-cadre) had been posted as GHMC Serilingampappli zonal commissioner.

Few IPS officers transferred

The transfers also featured new postings to few IPS officers. Hyderabad Multizone-I inspector general A.V. Ranganath was transferred and posted as GHMC commissioner (Enforcement, Vigilance and Disaster Management) in place of Nyalakonda Prakash Reddy. Mr. Prakash Reddy was posted as TG Tourism Development Corporation managing director replacing K. Ramesh Naidu who was directed to report to the DGP’s office for further posting.
