Nayab Saini named BJP legislature Party leader, to take oath as Haryana CM on October 17

Nayab Singh Saini was officially elected as the leader of the Haryana BJP Legislature Party during a meeting chaired by Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Chandigarh on Wednesday. Saini will take the oath as the Chief Minister of Haryana for the second time on October 17.

Union Minister Amit Shah lauded the victory, attributing it to the BJP’s developmental agenda under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. “This win reflects the success of BJP’s policies. Since the 1980s, no party has managed to have a Chief Minister re-elected for a third consecutive term. If it happens, it happens only with the BJP,” Shah said.

Highlighting the government’s achievements, Shah said, “Haryana is the only state that procures all 24 crops. It has also made the highest purchases at Minimum Support Price (MSP) under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership.”

The Home Minister also criticized the opposition’s stance on the Agniveer scheme, accusing them of trying to mislead young recruits. He emphasized that the initiative is designed to infuse the military with young talent. “This is not an act of injustice against the youth but a strategy to revitalize the armed forces. We assure that every Agniveer who completes their service will secure a pensionable job, either in the Indian government or with the Haryana government,” Shah added.

The BJP secured 48 seats in the 90-member Haryana assembly, paving the way for its third consecutive government in the state. The Congress managed to win 37 seats in the recently concluded elections.

The swearing-in ceremony will take place at Dussehra Ground, Sector 5, Panchkula, at 10 AM on October 17. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with senior BJP leaders and Chief Ministers and Deputy Chief Ministers from NDA-ruled states, is expected to attend the event.
