President Murmu attends 5th convocation of JC Bose University of Science & Technology

President Droupadi Murmu attended the 5th convocation of the JC Bose University of Science and Technology in Faridabad on Wednesday.

President Murmu highlighted the university’s active collaborations with various industrial and academic institutions in recent years. She noted the establishment of Centres of Excellence by several multinational companies on the university’s campus, aimed at equipping students with the necessary skills for the evolving job market. She expressed optimism that these initiatives would bear fruitful results.

Murmu also pointed out the transformative impact of technological advancements, particularly the expansion of internet access to remote areas. She noted that this development has created numerous online employment opportunities. However, she cautioned that technology should be harnessed for sustainable development and the public good, warning against its misuse.

The President said that the university is named after the great scientist and pioneer of modern science, Jagadish Chandra Bose, who was probably the first scientist in the world who proved scientifically that even trees and plants have feelings and his revolutionary discovery changed the way we look at the botanical world.

The President also paid tribute to the university’s namesake, Jagadish Chandra Bose, a pioneering scientist whose groundbreaking work demonstrated that plants have feelings, fundamentally altering our understanding of the botanical world. She urged students to draw inspiration from Bose’s life and legacy, using technology to bring positive change to society.

The President said that India’s rich heritage always made us proud and the youth “are a part of this rich heritage and they have to become its flagbearers.” She lastly advised the students to trust their abilities and capabilities and move forward with self-confidence to achieve their goals.
