Reetika Hooda falls short in women’s 76kg wrestling quarterfinals at Paris Olympics

At the 2024 Paris Olympics, Indian grappler Reetika Hooda faced a setback in the Women’s 76kg Freestyle event, losing to top-seeded Medet Kyzy Aiperi of Kyrgyzstan. In golf, both Aditi Ashok and Diksha Dagar struggled in the ladies’ individual event. Aditi Ashok ended the tournament tied for 33rd, while Diksha Dagar finished in a tie for 51st, marking a challenging conclusion to their Olympic campaigns.

So far, India has secured a total of six medals at the Games, comprising one silver and five bronze. The most recent bronze medal was won by wrestler Aman Sehrawat, who delivered a commanding performance in the Men’s 57kg Freestyle event. Sehrawat defeated Puerto Rico’s Darian Cruz with a score of 13-5, earning India’s first wrestling medal of the 2024 Olympics and boosting the country’s overall medal tally.
