Sarfira Box Office Collection Day 1: Akshay Kumar Starrer Opens Decently At Rs 2.40 Crore

Sarfira Box Office Collection Day 1: Akshay Kumar’s latest offering, Sarfira had a decent opening on July 12. The drama, whi clashed with Kamal Haasan’s Indian 2 at the theares, managed to earn a decent collection of Rs 2.40 crore on its Day 1, Sacnilk.com’s early estimates claimed. With an anticipated advance booking in place, it is expected to see a surge in profits over the weekend.

About Sarfira

Sarfira is the Hindi remake of superstar Suriya’s Tamil hit film Soorarai Pottru, and based on GR Gopinath’s memoir ‘Simply Fly: A Deccan Odyssey’. Directed by Sudha Kongara, who also helmed the oroginal, the movie also features Paresh Rawal, Radhika Madan, and Seema Biswas in pivotal roles.

Sarfira happens to be Akshay’s 150th film. Speaking about his milestone he said, “This is my 150th film and it is my best film. I am very thankful to Sudha to give me this film and the opportunity to be in it.”

Akshay, who tested positive for Covid-19 during the promotions of Sarfira this week, took to social media to share a note on its release day.

Sharing some stills from the movie, the 56-year-old wrote, "Sarfira means crazy and looking back I feel I would’ve been crazy had I not done this film. So I’m glad I did. This journey began almost 3 years back and it’s finally out for you all to witness and hopefully cherish. Sarfira is the story of a dream and the stubbornness to fulfil that dream, something we all can learn from. I’m so proud to be a part of this film and glad that Sarfira is my 150th film. I hope you get a chance to catch it cinemas soon. #Sarfira is now all yours."

Due to his Covid-19 diagnosis, Akshay had to skip Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant's grand wedding on Friday night. He is currently under self-isolation.
