Typhoon makes landfall on Japanese island of Kyushu: weather office

A major typhoon made landfall on Japan’s main southern island of Kyushu on Thursday morning, the weather office said. “The centre of Typhoon No. 10 made landfall near Satsumasendai City, Kagoshima Prefecture, around 8:00 am (0000 GMT), the Japan Meteorological Office said.
