Why the Rushikonda Hill project is steeped in controversy

Three years ago, Visakhapatnam’s Rushikonda Hill was transformed from a tranquil green site into a contentious construction zone by the then ruling YSR Congress Party. Initially proposed as a five-star hotel to boost tourism, the project faced fierce opposition for environmental destruction and a lack of transparency. It later emerged that the construction was reportedly for a lavish residence for the then Chief Minister.
